DII TE added to underclassmen list

DII TE added to underclassmen list Nothing formal has been announced, but DII Ashland head coach Lee Owens indicated during an interview conducted at the College Hall of Fame luncheon last week that star junior TE Adam Shaheen will be entering the 2017 draft. While hardly a household name, Shaheen is in fact a rather interesting prospect. He was primarily a basketball star in high school and actually played BB in his freshman year, before switching to football as a sophomore. In the past two years, Shaheen had 127 receptions, including 57 in 2016 when he scored 16 times; Shaheen was also named a first-team DII All-American this year and was a Harlon Hill nominee. Shaheen is a full-sized 6-5, 275, but the big question during pre-draft testing will be his straight-line speed; he is projected to run in the 4.85 range, which is at best average, although he did average over 15 yards per catch this season.
