Court hearing could decide Sorsby future … Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby will be in court later today where his attorneys will ask a district judge to prevent the NCAA from barring him during the 2026 season. The NCAA had ruled Sorsby permanently ineligible for violations of its gambling rules as he has admitted to betting on his own team during earlier career stops at Indiana and Cincinnati. The NCAA is likely to appeal if it loses today’s ruling, but its unlikely that any appeal would be heard anytime soon. On the other hand, if Sorsby loses in court today, he may be out of realistic collegiate options and could very well opt to put his name in for this summer’s supplemental draft.
