Couple of trade updates … There are a couple of updates to the spate of trades that took place last week. First, it was originally reported that the 3rd round pick Miami received from San Francisco as part of the deal in which the Dolphins and 49ers flipped the 3rd and 12th picks was from this year’s draft. On further review, it turns out that that 3rd round pick going to the Dolphins is actually in 2022. In kind of an odd twist to how these trades usually go, in the end, the Dolphins didn’t get any additional picks in 2021 for dropping down from #3 to #12, although of course what they did get was first round picks in 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, in another deal that kind of slipped under the radar last week, Jacksonville sent TE Josh Oliver to Baltimore for a conditional 7th round pick in 2022. Oliver was a promising 3rd round pick in 2018 by the Jaguars, but he didn’t play much because of injuries in Jacksonville.
