There was a pretty good turnout at the Colorado pro day where 29 teams were represented including a full contingent from Denver including John Elway and head coach Vance Joseph. The star of the day for the Buffs was RB Phil Lindsay (no relation) who had an unofficial 40-clocking of under 4.40 seconds while managing 14 reps in the bench press. Lindsay also reportedly looked smooth in pass-catching drills. The issue for Lindsay is that he’s only 5-7 and 184 pounds. Meanwhile, WR Bryce Bobo, the Buffs’ leading receiver last year, looked the part at 6-2, 204, but didn’t test all that well as he ran the 40 4.66, had a miserable 28″ vertical and slow times in the agility tests. In fact, fellow WRs Shay Fields (5-10, 187) and Devin Ross (5-9, 192) actually tested better with Fields running a 4.43 with a 35.5″ vertical and reasonably quick shuttle times, while Ross clocked a 4.48 40 with a 35″ vertical and decent agility test scores. OLB Derek McCartney (6-2, 240) ran a 4.78 40 with a 32.5: vertical and a reported sub-7.0 clocking in the 3-cone drill which is very good. DB Afolabi Laguda (6-0, 203) ran a 4.62 while DE Leo Jackson (6-1, 271) had a 4.96 clocking. Here are the full Colorado results as posted by the school.
