Coach firings begin; draft guru in as Raiders GM … Updated: The ink is barely dry on the 2018 NFL regular season, but already five head coaches have been fired after their teams final games. Already formally fired are Todd Bowles by the NY Jets, Vance Joseph by Denver, Adam Gase by Miami and Marvin Lewis after 16 years by Cincinnati. At the same time, Steve Wilks has reportedly told his staff at Arizona that he will not be back. The Cardinals have the first pick in this year’s draft, while the Jets will pick third, Broncos 10th, Cincinnati 11th and Miami 13th. Meanwhile, in a ‘say it ain’t so, Mike’ moment, or maybe its truly ‘putting your money where your mouth is’ but long-time NFL draft guru Mike Mayock will reportedly take over as the new G.M. in Oakland where he will have to get along with Jon Gruden. Mayock was the lead draft analyst at the NFL Network and it will be interesting to see who replaces him on their draft weekend coverage. For the record, we are available!
