Clemson out for year … Clemson has confirmed that veteran DE Xavier Thomas, a once promising pro prospect, will miss the rest of the season after undergoing foot surgery. The 6-2, 255-pound Thomas, a 5th year senior, originally hurt the foot in fall camp and has already missed most of the season; in fact he played in just 6 snaps this fall, but had a pair of sacks on those few plays. Thomas is eligible to return to the Tigers next fall, but has not indicated whether he will or will opt to enter this year’s draft as he should be 100% for the combine.
