Chase for the top pick coming down to the wire … While the rest of the league is battling for playoff positioning, or just playing out the string, but the chase for the top pick at the 2023 draft will be back on this afternoon with just a half game separating Houston and Chicago for the worst record in the NFL. However, there will have to be an upset for their to be any major shift, at least this week, Houston, for example, will be hosting resurgent Jacksonville, the new leader in the AFC South, although the Jags could be caught looking ahead to next week’s showdown for the divisional crown with Tennessee. Meanwhile, Chicago will be in Detroit which is still very much alive in the hunt for an NFC wildcard. And there will be at least some shuffling in the early selection order for next year’s draft as Arizona, which currently sits on the 4th pick, will be at #6 Atlanta. There will also be something of a draft angle on the table when New Orleans plays at Philadelphia later today as the Eagles have the Saints #1 pick, which is currently the 10th selection, and could doubly help themselves with a win. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
