CB McCoy runs and runs fast at Vols’ pro day … One of the big questions ahead of today’s pro day at Tennessee was whether star CB Jermod McCoy, who did not play at all in 2026 after tearing an ACL, would participate in the on-field physical testing including running the 40. For the record, McCoy answered the question by working out and more importantly worked out really well posting a 38-inch vertical, while clocking a reported 4.38 in the 40. That’s great news for McCoy on at least two accounts. First, its pretty clear he’s well on the way to making a full recovery and if he isn’t totally 100% today, he’ll almost certainly be there by the start of training camp in August. And more to the point, those numbers should confirm McCoy’s status as one of the top 2 corners in this year’s draft along with LSU’s Mansoor Delane and put him very much in the top 10-15 conversation come April 23rd. In fact, it would appear highly unlikely that he’d drop much below the 12th pick overall where Dallas would likely snap him up if he we were still available at that point.
