Bucks, Dawgs with top 2025 draft classes

August 10, 2024

Bucks, Dawgs with top 2025 draft classes … Ask even the most casual college football fan who they’d pick for this year’s CFP final and you’d probably get Ohio State versus Georgia in response. And that shouldn’t come as a big surprise as the Buckeyes and Bulldogs also look like they have the most talented draft classes looking ahead to the 2025 draft. Ohio State, for example, had a half dozen or so highly rated prospects for the 2024 draft opt to return to school for one final kick at a CFP title and lead the country with 6 players on our pre-season Big Board Top 50 prospects for 2025. For its part, Georgia has 4 current top 50 prospects including QB Carson Beck, who likely will get plenty of consideration at the very top of next April’s board. Those two are followed by defending national champion Michigan and Oregon in 3rd and 4th place respectively, while spots 5 thru 9 belong to SEC teams including Texas, Mississippi, LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M. In fact, the top 9 teams are all from either the Big Ten or SEC, with Notre Dame breaking the streak at #10. Here is our ranking of the Top 15 draft classes for the upcoming season/draft. It should also come as no big surprise that the large majority of this year’s top prospects are concentrated among the elite teams. Indeed, 41 of the 55 players – 75% – of the those on our preliminary Big Board play for one of the teams listed among our top draft classes.
