The Turk is on the prowl … It is cutdown day in the NFL as all teams must be down to the 53-man roster limit by 4 PM ET later today. As usual, we’ll be tracking all of today’s transactions as best we can with, of course, a special focus on players selected at the 2021 draft. Note, though, that while teams are required to have their final cuts into the league office by 4 PM ET, there is no rule that they must announce those moves by that time and in the past it has not been unusual for some moves not to announced until later in the evening. Enjoy the day! Also note that in yesterday’s deal between Cincinnati and the NY Giants, which was originally reported as a one-for-one veteran trade with OG Billy Price going to New York and the Bengals getting DT B.J. Hill, Cincinnati also gets what is being reported as a conditional 7th round pick. What isn’t clear is whether the conditional part of the deal refers to some sort of traditional condition such as based on playing time, or whether the pick is the conditional 7th the Giants received from Carolina earlier this month for PK Ryan Santoso. That pick originally belonged to Miami and where ever it ends up will be the higher of the #7s the Dolphins received from New England and Tennessee in earlier deals.
