Broncos get vet Ravens QB Flacco in trade

Updating Broncos-Ravens trade for vet QB Flacco … Just a quick update on that trade in which Denver has reportedly agreed to a trade in principle with Baltimore to acquire veteran QB Joe Flacco. Sources are reporting that the compensation will be a 4th round draft pick; however, the Broncos actually have two 4th rounders – their own, plus Houston’s acquired in last years’s deal involving WR Demaryius Thomas – and it is still to be determined which of the two the Ravens will receive. In fact, we likely won’t know for sure until the new NFL league year begins March 13th. While the Broncos may still look to add a young QB in the 2019 draft as Flacco is 34, it is now more likely that it won’t come with the 10th pick overall. The deal would also likely seem to eliminate the likelihood of the Broncos trading up from the 10th pick. Given that Flacco has a huge cap hit of over $26M it is also likely that Denver will look to trade or release incumbent starter Case Keenum. Stay tuned!
