As the GM turns; Raiders add, Jags fire … There have been a couple of G.M. moves around the league this afternoon that could impact the 2025 draft. On the one hand, Jacksonville somewhat surprisingly has fired G.M. Trent Baalke just a couple of days into the second round of the Jaguars interviews for their vacant head coaching job. Baalke had appeared to be safe when former head coach Doug Peterson was fired earlier this month. At the same time, Las Vegas has hired Tampa Bay assistant G.M. John Spytek to be their new general manager replacing Tom Telesco was was also fired earlier this month. Interestingly, Spytek has a relationship with Tom Brady who is now part of the Raiders ownership group as they were football teammates at Michigan and were both part of the Buccaneers’ organization after Brady left the Patriots. Meanwhile, for those who missed it earlier today, the NY Jets signed former star CB Aaron Glenn to fill their vacat coaching vacancy. Glenn has been defensive co-ordinator with Detroit. For the record, the Jaguars have the 5th pick in this year’s draft, while the Raiders pick 6th and the Jets 7th.
