Badgers QB ACL

September 16, 2024

Badger QB Van Dyke out for season with ACL; Texas QBs week-to-week … Wisconsin has confirmed that QB Tyler Van Dyke tore an ACL early in the Badgers’ loss to #4 Alabama on Saturday and will miss the remainder of the season. However, Van Dyke, who transferred from Miami this past off season, does have an additional year of eligibility and is expected to return for the 2025 campaign next fall. Meanwhile, both Quinn Ewers of Texas and Texas A&M’s Connor Weigman are being listed as ‘week-to-week. Ewers, one of the top 2-3 prospects at the position for next April’s draft, suffered an oblique strain in his abdomen early in the Longhorns’ win over UTSA on Saturday and appears unlikely to play this weekend when Texas hosts Louisiana-Monroe to conclude their non-conference schedule. Ewers was replaced in Saturday’s win by Arch Manning who was outstanding in his own right. For his part, Weigman didn’t play at all in the Aggies win at Florida last weekend after injuring a shoulder in practice and is also not expected to play this coming week when they host Bowling Green from the MAC. Its a tough break for Weigman, who had been considered a potential riser at the position if he could stay healthy.
