- January 17: Deadline for underclassmen to apply for early entry to the 2020 draft
- January 20: Deadline for underclassmen who applied for early entry to 2020 draft and have not signed with an agent or otherwise received improper benefits to withdraw their applications
- February 2: Super Bowl in Tampa
- February 11: NFL teams may begin to sign CFL free agents
- February 25: Teams may begin to designate franchise and transition players
- February 24-March 2: Scouting combine in Indianapolis
- March 10: Deadline for teams to designate franchise and transition players
- March 16-18: Window of opportunity for teams to begin negotiations with free agents
- March 18: New league year begins at 4 PM ET; all teams have to be under the 2020 salary cap; teams may start signing free agents; trading period begins
- March 29: NFL annual league meetings in Palm Beach
- April 17: Deadline to sign restricted free agents to offer sheets
- April 23-25: 2019 draft in Las Vegas
- April 30: CFL draft of Canadian players
- June 11-13: CFL regular season begins
- August 6: Hall of Fame game; Canton
- September 5: All teams must be down to opening day 53-man rosters
- September 6: Teams may sign players to practice squads
- September 10-14: 2020 regular season starts
- October 27: Trading deadline
- November 22: CFL Grey Cup game in Regina
