Latest all-star game invites

Both the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine all-star games announced their latest batches of players who have accepted invites to the respective events. Among 21 players who will be going to Mobile to play in the Senior Bowl include QBs Chad Kelly of Ole Miss and C.J. Beathard of Iowa; Toledo RB Kareem Hunt, SEC WRs Travin Dural of LSU and Mississippi State’s Fred Ross; OTs Adam Bisnotaway of Pitt, Juli’en Davenport of Bucknell and Kelly Parfitt of Florida Atlantic; OGs Danny Isidora of Miami and San Diego State’s Nico Siragusa; Utah C Isaac Asiata; DEs Daeshon hall of Texas A&M and Keionta Davis of Tennessee-Chattanooga; Iowa DT Jaleel Johnson; OLBs Ryan Anderson of Alabama and Hasaan Reddick of Temple; CBs Corn Elder of Miami and Lamar’s Brendan Langley; and safeties Marcus maye of Florida, Rayshawn Jenkins of Miami amd John Johnson of Boston College. Note, though, that Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly tore an ACL late in the season and won’t be able to participate in on-field activities. The latest Senior Bowl signings brings the number of accepted invites to this year’s game to 68. The 68th Annual Reese’s Senior Bowl is set for January 28, 2017 at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Players will report on January 23 for the week of practices. The practices will be televised live on ESPN2 and NFL Network while the game is scheduled for a 1:30pm kickoff on NFL Network.

Meanwhile, the Shrine game announced the addition of 25 players including QBs Cooper Rush of Central Michigan and Pitt’s Nate Peterman; RBs Elijah McGuire of Louisiana-Lafayette and Utah’s Joe Williams; WRs Rodney Adams of USF, Kenny Golladay of Northern Illinois, Auburn’s Tony Stevens, Jordan Westerkamp of Nebraska, and Purdue’s DeAngelo Yancey; Drake TE Eric Saubert; Texas A&M Avery Gennesy; OGs Danny Isidora of Miami, Michigan’s Kyle Kalis, and Geoff Gray of Manitoba; Wyoming C Chase Roullier; Arkansas DE Jeremiah Ledbetter; Colorado DT Josh Tupou; OLBs Jayon Brown of UCLA and Illinois’ Carroll Phillips; CBs Fabian Moreau of UCLA, Tyquwan Glass of Fresno State, Jack Tocho of NC State and Ashton Lampkin of Oklahoma State; and FS Jordan Stearns of Oklahoma State.

At the same time, the NFLPA game announced 5 accepted invites including RBs Joe Williams of Utah and Middle Tennessee’s I’tavius Mathers; Washington WR Darrell Daniels; Michigan State TE Jamal Lyles; and LSU OG Josh Boutte. Note that it appears that Utah RB Joe Williams appears on both the Shrine and NFLPA rosters which would be an accomplishment as the games are on the same date on opposite coasts. Stay tuned.
