August 30: Teams must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 75 players by 4 PM ET.

September 3: Teams must reduce rosters to 53 players by 4 PM ET

September 4: Teams may establish a practice squad of 10 players

September 8-12: Opening week of NFL schedule

November 1: NFL trade deadline at 4 PM ET.

November 27: 104th CFL Grey Cup game; 6 PM ET; Toronto

December 31: College playoff games; Fiesta and Peach Bowls

January 9: College football national championship game; Tampa

January 16: Deadline for underclassmen to apply for special eligibility for the 2017 draft

January 19: Window closes for underclassmen who applied to the NFL for early entry to the 2017 draft who have not signed with an agent to withdraw their names.

January 21: East-West Shrine All-star Game, Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida

January 23-28: Senior Bowl week, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile, Alabama.

January 29: Pro Bowl in Orlando

February 5: Super Bowl LI in Houston

February 9: Teams can begin to release veteran players

February 15: First day to tag franchise players

February 15: NFL signing period for CFL players under contract ends

February 28-March 6: Scouting Combine in Indianapolis

March 1: Deadline for teams to designate franchise or transition players

March 7-9: Three day window in which teams are permitted to contact and begin contract negotiations with the agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents

March 9: 2017 league year, include start of free agency and trading period begins at 4 PM ET

April 3: Offseason program can begin for teams with new head coaches

April 17: Offseason workouts can begin for teams with returning head coaches

April 27-29: 2017 NFL draft in Philadelphia
