Some teams are still warming up against overmatched opponents, but once again we have some top caliber match-ups to enjoy. Here is some prospect watch info on significant games.

PITTSBURGH @ PENN STATE by 9
This game is heavily slanted in favor of Penn State. PITT will give them a run for their money for a while, but State should wear them down in the second half (if not before). Nittany Lion QB TRACE McSORLEY isn’t much of a pro prospect, but he does it all with his FBI, legs and arm. He IS a Heisman hopeful in the vein of Baker Mayfield. I am most curious to see how PITT QB MAX BROWNE does this season in his encore performance after losing his job to SAM DARNOLD at USC. He could emerge as a serious NFL prospect this season. Watch for MR. BARKLEY to run rampant again this weekend. He is likely to be the top RB taken in the 2018 Draft.
PITT prospects: #4 MAX BROWNE/QB, #85 JETSER WEAH/WR, #63 ALEX OFFICER/C/G, #70 BRIAN O’NEILL/OT/JR, #92 RORI BLAIR/DE, #14 AVONTE MADDOX/CB.
PENN STATE prospects: #26 SAQUON BARKLEY/RB/JR, #5 DaeSHON HAMILTON/WR, #13 SAEED BLACKNALL/WR, #88 MIKE GESICKI/TE, #59 ANDREW NELSON/OG, #40 JASON CABINDA/LB, #2 MARCUS ALEN/FS, #1 CHRISTIAN CAMPBELL/CB.

AUBURN @ CLEMSON by 4
AUBURN is hoping to catch CLEMSON while they are adjusting to life with out Mr. WATSON. But then again Auburn is breaking in a new QB of their own in transfer JARRETT STIDHAM #8, ex of Baylor. And they still have their security blanket around in SEAN WHITE #13. Both teams have a ton of talented underclassmen on their rosters, but they wilL need some of their talented youngsters to step it up quickly. I’ll give Clemson the nod at home, but, beware in a close game because Auburn has about the best Kicker in college football in #38 DANIEL CARLSON.
AUBURN prospects: #36 KAMRYN PETTWAY/RB/JR, #71 BRADEN SMITH/G/T, #78 DARIUS JAMES/OT, #28 TRAY MATTHEWS/S, #30 TRE’ WILLIAMS/LB, #38 DANIEL CARLSON/K.
CLEMSON prospects: #8 DEON CAIN/WR/JR, #75 MITCH HYATT/OT/JR, #90 DEXTER LAWRENCE/DT, #42 CHRISTIAN WILKINS/DT/JR, #23 VAN SMITH/FS/JR.

GEORGIA @ NOTRE DAME by 3
This is a very important game for the Fighting Irish who looked good last week against a spunky Temple team. But UGA is a big-boy SEC opponent. As of press time UGA Soph QB/JACOB EASON was declared out of the game with injury. That could be just the break ND needs since their secondary is their biggest weakness. Expect a heavy dose of running by NICK CHUBB and SONY MICHEL, who both may be Top 100 prospects if healthy all season. No doubt in my mind the team that can generate a couple of takeaways will likely win.
GEORGIA prospects: #27 NICK CHUBB/RB, #1/SONY MICHEL/RB, #83 JEB BLAZEVICH/TE, #77 ISAIAH WYNN/G/T, #97 JOHN ATKINS/DT, #17 DAVIN BELLAMY/E/OB, #7 LORENZO CARTER/OB, #35 AARON DAVIS/CB, #24 DOMINICK SANDERS/S.
NOTRE DAME prospects: #6 EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN/WR/JR, #68 MIK McGLINCHEY/LT, #48 GREER MARTIN/OB, #5 NYLES MORGAN/IB, #23 DRUE TRANQUILL/S/LB/JR.

STANFORD @ SOUTHERN CAL by 2
Quite the early Conference showdown between perhaps the favorites in the North and South PAC 12 RESPECTIVELY. I like Stanford to win based on their overall roster strength, but then again the Trojans have #14 SAM DARNOLD at QB, and are playing at home. So based on that I give the Trojans the narrowest of victories this week. Once DARNOLD got rolling against WMU the team could not be stopped last weekend. And the more games their young players get under the belt the stronger they should become. This is a Top 10 showdown IMO.
STANFORD prospects: #20 BRYCE LOVE/RB/JR, #77 CASEY TUCKER/OT/G, #64 DAVID BRIGHT/OT/JR, #80 ERIC COTTON/DE, #34 PETER KLAMBAYI/OB, #8 JUSTIN REID/S/JR, #24 QUENTON. MEEKS/CB/JR, #66 HARRISON PHILLIPS/DT/JR.
SOUTHERN CAL prospects: #14 SAM DARNOLD/QB/RSO, 25 RONALD JONES/RB/JR, #60 VIANE TALAMAIVAO/OG/JR, #45 PORTER GUSTIN/DE/JR, #35 CAMERON SMITH/IB/JR, #4 CHRIS HAWKINS/S, # 8 IMAN MARSHALL/CB/JR.
