More college injury updates

October 5, 2017

Couple more college injury updates … LSU junior RB Derrius Guice will play this Saturday when the struggling Tigers play at Florida, but it will only be in a limited capacity because of a lingering knee issue. Guice, who had been considered to be a top 10 prospect at the start of the season, has been in and out of the line-up pretty much all season because of the injury. Its not clear at this time what the issue will do to Guice’s draft stock, but it certainly isn’t helping. For its part, Florida will be without emerging sophomore WR Tyrie Cleveland because of an ankle injury. Cleveland, who has taken over the Gators’ #1 WR role with Antonio Gallaway suspended, has averaged almost 22 yards per catch on 15 total receptions this fall. Meanwhile, veteran USC OG Viane Talamaivao is done for the year as he will require surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle suffered in last week’s loss at Washington State. The 6-2, 330-pound Talamaivo is a later round prospect who has started 37 games for the Trojans.
