  • (7:00 PM): MSU QB to return; DE ‘iffy’ … Citing the fact that he still has ‘unfinished’ business at school, Michigan State junior QB Connor has reportedly decided to stay with the program for his senior season next fall. Cook had considered entering the 2015 draft if he were rated as a potential top ten pick, but right now he looks to be more like a late first or even early second round candidate. Meanwhile, MSU DE Shilique Calhoun is being quoted as saying he still hasn’t ruled out returning for his final year of eligibility next fall. Calhoun came into the season rated a top 10-15 prospect, but like Cook now appears to be carrying more a late first, early second round grade.
  • (11:00 AM): Weekly selection order updated … Just in case anybody did miss it, the first-round selection order for the 2015 draft, were it held this week, was updated last night, but it seems we neglected to actually make a note of it.
  • (12:01 AM): Big Board tweaked … With the 2014 college football season now in the books the GBN Big Board ranking the top 150 prospects for the upcoming draft has been updated.
  • Prospects profiles from … For all intents and purposes the college football season ended last week, but that hasn’t slowed down GBN Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette who weighs in on a number of prospects who caught his eye.
  • Pair of first-round prospects accept Star bowl bid … There are a couple of potential first-round picks at the 2015 draft among the latest group of players that have accepted invitations to net month’s Senior Bowl in Mobile. In fact, West Virginia WR Kevin White and LSU G/T La’el Collins, both of whom will be in Mobile next month, have been whispered as possible top 15 prospects this coming April 30th. Also accepting invitations to this year’s Senior Bowl include Florida State TE NickO’Leary, Missouri DE Markus Golden, and just to make sure people are paying attention, the ’other’ Kevin White who plays corner at TCU. Here is the full list of players who have accepted invites to this year’s Senior Bowl which will be played January 24th in Mobile with practices set to start on Tuesday January 20th. And the GBN is pleased to confirm that we’ll be there as our credentials have been approved!
